Trigger Finger, also known as Stenosing Tenosynovitis is a condition in which our finger straightens with a click and remains bent. The finger may straighten or bent with a snap like a trigger being released or pulled. It mainly happens due to inflammation which involves the tendons and pulleys which flex our fingers.
How Trigger Finger is treated?
The doctor aims to remove the catch of the tendon. This is why surgery is often advised for the patients by the plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon mainly opens the pulley for removing the catching of the tendon and allows it to move freely. The patient may feel discomfort or swelling just after the surgery. But they can normally use their hands after the recovery period.
