What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is also known as a nose job that is performed for changing the shape of your nose. The surgery is being done by working on the cartilage or the bone. Most of the people go for the Rhinoplasty after an accident or to correct a birth defect because they are unhappy with the shape of their nose.
What is the recovery period of Rhinoplasty?
Once the surgery is done, the doctor may place a metal or plastic splint on the nose of the patient. This splint will help in retaining its new shape when it heals. The doctor may also place a nasal pack inside the nostrils of the patients which helps in stabilizing the septum. The patient has to practice breathing through the mouth before surgery because the nose will be packed after surgery. The septum is a part situated in the middle of the nose and nostrils.
After surgery, the patients will continuously be monitored in the recovery room for a few hours. The patients need to get assisted by someone because there will be an effect of anesthesia for a few hours. It is mandatory to take rest for a few days to avoid the risk of drainage or bleeding.
