Tattoo removal is the process of removing an unwanted tattoo. The process of tattooing generally creates permanent markings in the skin, but people have attempted many methods to try to hide or destroy tattoos.
How does tattoo removal work?

The doctor or technician will use the laser to pass pulses of light through your skin. The ink in your tattoo absorbs this light and starts to break up. They might pass the laser over your tattoo at least a few times, and sometimes they wait a little while in between passes.
Can a tattoo be fully removed?
Surgical removal, also called excision tattoo removal, involves cutting off tattooed skin and stitching remaining skin back together. It’s the most invasive method of tattoo removal, but also the only guaranteed way to completely remove a tattoo.

How can I remove a tattoo at home?
There is no way to remove a tattoo at home. Tattoo ink is inserted deep into the second layer of skin called the dermis. In order to remove a tattoo, the ink molecules need to be broken apart into tiny, digestible particles.
Can tattoo be removed permanently by laser?
Today, most tattoos are removed with a Q-switched laser, which sends out energy in one strong pulse. This pulse of energy heats up the ink in your skin to dissolve it. You’ll need to receive a number of laser treatments over several weeks or longer to remove your tattoo.
